An optional introductory level where students are taught basic unarmed combat and one other weapon system (usually single sword), building towards an assessed showcase performance. The Foundation course requires an minimum of 20 hours of training and is focused on introducing students to the basic concepts and fundamental techniques which underpin dramatic combat. The BADC does not provide an examiner or award grades at this level but the students progress is assessed by their teacher and upon successful completion of the course each student recieves a signed and stamped Training & Certification Record (TCR) as a record of their training. This qualification is open to those aged 16+.
